In the ICCRC registration process, the first thing a candidate needs to do is to complete their bachelor’s degree. Candidates who have scored good grades in their graduation are more likely to become RCIC. This is the very basic requirement of the ICCRC registration that one should meet.
In order to be a certified immigration consultant and complete the ICCRC registration process, candidates have to complete the graduate diploma program from authorized schools. Canada has designated two schools which are allowed to offer a graduate diploma in immigration and Citizenship law. Two colleges are regulated by the Canadian government Queen’s University (for English-speaking students) and University de Montreal (for French-speaking students). There is a total of three-semester programs which is designed to complete the ICCRC registration process in one year. It is an online course, so, this graduate diploma program is very beneficial for those candidates who cannot go to the campus regularly. After completing this graduate diploma, candidates will get a substantial amount of knowledge about the immigration programs and Canada PR eligibility. Candidates have to meet the qualification requirements and also SOI (statement of Interest) about their career ambitions. The duration of this graduate diploma course is around 40-48 hours per week and the fees for each semester are around $14,000. Once the candidate earns this diploma, the next important step that a candidate needs to take in the ICCRC registration process is to give the Entry-to-Practice exam to be a certified immigration lawyer and practice law in Canada. Pass the Entry to Practice exam This is the last step of the ICCRC registration process to pass the Entry-to-practice that is organised by the ICCRC. Candidates who have completed the graduate diploma program are more likely to pass this exam. One thing that is very important is that only those candidates who are Canadian citizens can give this exam. Candidates who are foreign students or workers (working on a temporary work visa) and are planning to be a RCIC, need to earn permanent resident status first by meeting Canada PR eligibility and then apply for Canadian citizenship.
